Trainings on formulation of the regional action plans on child wellbeing

A series of trainings was held by the team of experts on formulation of the regional action plans on child wellbeing. The trainings were arranged in Bukhara (Bukhara region), Urgench (Khorezm region) and Nukus (the Republic of Karakalpakstan) The main objectives of the trainings are to strengthen capacities in formulation of the strategic papers on child wellbeing, analysis of the impact made by separate socio-economic transformations on child wellbeing as well as consideration of the child rights

Round table discussions on development in the Aral Sea region

A series of round table discussions was arranged by the Fund on the recovery and the most critical priorities of the socio-economic development in the Aral Sea region. The overall goal of this initiative is harmonization and coordination of donor assistance in the region, synergy formulation of the main directions, measures and mechanisms, identification of the major partners and counterparts in achieving sustainable development of the Aral Sea region. In the spotlight: child wellbeing

The Fund has formulated the International Programme “Children of Aral” in close cooperation with the government agencies and NGOs. The Programme is an essential of the National Plan of Actions for implementation of the Minimum Age Convention and the Convention concerning the Prohibition and Immediate Action for the Elimination of the Worst Forms of Child Labor ratified by Uzbekistan in 2008.   “Children of Aral” is a strategic paper with an overall goal to enhance child wellbeing in the region

Uniting for future generations

With the support of OSCE the Fund initiated establishment of an institutional framework to discuss development prospects in the Aral Sea region entitled Aral Sea Region Development Assistance Platform.
